 This one-day workshop provides an opportunity for psychotherapists to explore their attitudes, values, and beliefs about sex, sexual behaviours, sexuality, and gender identities in a safe, open, confidential and non-judgmental environment. The workshop is designed as a facilitated journey to promote self-exploration and reflections in order to feel more confident and comfortable to address a range of topics related to sexuality in psychotherapy. 

This workshop will support the participants to:

 

  • Explore their feelings, attitudes, values, and beliefs regarding human sexuality and sexual behaviour

  • Understand how therapist’s values and attitudes toward sexuality affects the therapeutic relationship and the process of therapy

  • Feel more confident and comfortable to address a range of sexuality related topics with clients
  • Learn strategies to support clients who have experienced sexual trauma enhance intimacy
