Awareness of trauma, including of complex trauma has progressed over the last 20 years. This includes the development of the framework called “Trauma-informed care and practice”.  This framework is informed by new knowledge around attachment, development, the way body stores trauma, memory and an understanding of self.

Overview

This face-to-face training supports the participants to:

  • Have a better understanding of trauma and its prevalence

  • Understand how trauma’s impact is multi-faceted

  • Have a better understanding of how it impacts relationships and the body

  • Have a deeper understanding of how people who have been affected by trauma experience the world

  • Develop practical strategies to enhance safety and minimise re-traumatisation
